Hello from Prague!!

Soooo its the 2nd day in Prague but my 6th day on this trip and I feel like I've gotten about 4 hours of sleep this entire week. The plane ride from home to London was actually not that bad. It lasted only about 9 and a half hours. I took a few Xanax so it only felt like 4 =). When we got to London I had to HAUL my 4 million pound luggage to the hotel whose elevator was not working at the time...so we carried our luggage into this giant room and had to wait to check in because we got there too early, we had to wait until 2pm. So we walked around and found some food and changed some money trying to kill time before we got back. When we got back we got our roommates. Mine was MEREDITH! She was hilarious and I loved rooming with her for 3 days. I showered because I smelt so bad and we had a drinks social for all the students abroad. It was fun, but I was so tired I passed out early.
We went on a tour the next day of London, and surprisingly it was really fun. I've been and seen the things we saw when I went last summer like London bridge, Tower bridge, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Parliament, Thames River but it was more fun on this tour AND this time for all the Harry Potter fans I went to PLATFORM 9 and 3 quarters =) I was so excited. After the tour me and a few friends I've made, 2 of which are named Caitlin, wandered around and went to dinner. We went to bed rather early because we had to get up at 3:30am to fly to Munich, and I didn't end up sleeping at all because I was afraid I'd oversleep and get left behind. So for the second time I HAULED my 64 lbs. bag and 48 lbs bag along with my backpack and purse to the bus, then to the airport where I had to pay excess baggage and overweight fees, all of which were worth it at the moment because its 20 degrees and snowing, then hopped on the plane at 7:45am and flew to Munich! This program was a little insane thinking that we could survive on zero sleep and go on a tour of Munich with a guide who would wait to describe the scenery until AFTER we passed it, but all in all Germany was pretty awesome. German was easy to pick up and understand the whole 12 hours we were there....but the ONE person with me in the group of girls I've been hanging out with that did know a little German RAN from the one person who tried to talk to her. I'm sure we scared the Germans. Oh well our hotel was right across from a place called TABLE DANCE with a sign that said BOOBS. Way to be subtle...We toured the city and walked through the Hofbrauhaus which was pretty amazing, and the city in general was just beautiful. I would definitely love to re-visit that place. We left on the bus the next morning where I had to again HAUL my luggage into the elevator that held ONE person with 107 students studying abroad, and rode 6 hours to Prague. We stopped at the Pilsen brewery and had lunch and I ate Goulash and dumplings! I actually really liked it. And I had a beer, which actually tasted good. I drank the whole pint. =) We drove the rest of the way to our hotel and when we got here at first I was so excited to hear I was on the FOURTH floor, until I heard the elevator was broken...no bed bugs for me but I definitely had a work-out. I was so excited to unpack into my closet with twelve hangers and my room with 6 shelves...I brought SO many clothes. But now I don't really think its a bad thing because the laundry place is like 2 tram rides away...so I don't think I'll be wanting to go there every week. There's a mexican restaurant across the street from this hostel which actually serves pretty decent food.

Oh and here's my funny story for the day:
So I got stuck on the tram tonight! Me and my friends Caitlin and Caitlin and Lauren were coming back from town where we were taken on a tour of our school and town, and it was late and dark and we were waiting for our stop and we had groceries...well we got to our stop and lauren's bag broke so Caitlin and Caitlin got out Lauren grabbed her stuff and hurried out and then I attempted to leave with my bag of batteries straightener and a blow dryer along with my pillow, but the door SHUT on me and my PILLOW. So I got stuck in the tram ALONE with half my pillow sticking out of the tram door...either the driver didn't or didn't care I'm guessing the latter, but I had to be alone on the tram as the stupid American whose pillow is stuck in the door and didn't move quick enough and get off at the next exit and walk my butt back to the other tram stop where the girls were waiting for me. It was an interesting night. But fun!

I've met so many great people. And Prague is AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL! I absolutely love it. I love the cold showers (we haven't gotten hot water yet) the 20 degree weather and the SNOW! I saw it snow for the first time today. I loved it! I love the food I love the people, minus the fact that I stick out like a sore thumb. But once I learn Czech I might fit in, there's some blonde Czech's and I can't wait to pretend I'm one of them!

I know this was long but this is where I am and I'll write less and more detailed soon!!
YAYYYY PRAGUEEE!!!!

  2. Hi KT,
OMG this is so cool!! Me and mom just went over your pictures over the phone. I was teaching her how to make them larger. There was the one w/ Ruby, you, and Lauren and I asked who was the blond w/ the glasses and she didn't see the glasses because the pic was to small. I am so excited that we get to go on this adventure w/ you. I can' wait to see more!! LOL, Aunt TT

  4. Hey, this is Julie, Mom's friend in Palmdale. I am so excited I "get to go with you" on your trip. I will show this to Chelsea and Connie when they get home from school today (they will be 15 next month-remember when they were born?) Anyway, you guys are doing a good job taking picutres. Remember you can never take too many, and always get yourselves in the pix too, smiling. And your mom is right, the captions do help especially when you get old like us and need help remembering what & where. Be careful all of you and keep'em coming.
